Mystery illness in dogs in Northern Michigan determined to be Parvovirus

The best way to  protect your dog is to keep them current on their vaccinations.  The typical symptoms of Parvovirus are vomiting, diarrhea (often bloody), anorexia, lethargy and fever. Parvovirus is very contagious through stool or vomit, but fortunately the vaccinations are extremely effective in preventing disease. Puppies are most vulnerable to illness, so should not be interacting with other animals until they are fully vaccinated. www.michigan.gov/mdard/about/media/pressreleases/2022/08/24/update-from-the-state-vet
